Found a killer site focused on sharing recording techniques, patches, etc. It's focused on hard rock and metal but the techniques could be used for whatever.
http://www.metalrecording.com/ Here is a killer video about mic placement on a guitar cabinet. It pretty much explains it in short order! See you guys SATURDAY! Todd This post has been edited by Todd Simpson: Jan 28 2012, 05:28 AM |

wow, such a massive difference just by the angle alone,
I like the bass response when tilting it on a 45 degree angle, We humans get so obsessed with detail, but I guess in here it really changes the outcome of the sound coming out of the amp, I guess using different microphones really makes a more "full" sound as well! thank you for sharing that! -------------------- Visit my:

.... Good gear and good technique transcend genre. It's shocking how big a diff it can make! ... Absolutely this Todd . I've lost count of how many times we've sent stuff back because ultimately the recording didn't cut it from the start. People start with a poor recording but think, 'It's ok we'll save it in the mix'. The mixing doesn't 'fix it' and so it snowballs and they then think, 'Oh well lets get the mastering engineer to save it'. That rarely works - I'm a mastering engineer not a magician. If it's a bad recording by the time it gets to me it's nearly always far too late, the damage is already done and you need to go back and start all over again. -------------------- Get your music professionally mastered by anl AES registered Mastering Engineer. Nice! You are using all the trick on this one! Great choice of Mics BTW this is actually how many Death Metal bands get good tone by mixing these exact same combo of mics and the choice of Amp Head is pretty freakin Metal as well. Good gear and good technique transcend genre. yes! This different mics and positions allowed me to have a great variety of sound possibilities... the could be done mostly mixing mics. You can hear the complete album here to see the results. http://grooveshark.com/#!/album/Imaginario/5478388 This post has been edited by Gabriel Leopardi: Jan 29 2012, 07:02 PM -------------------- My lessons
