OK, don't count the coming up with ideas part. Let's say you know what you want to give a lesson on and you know the guitar part you're going to use. How long does writing backing tracks, recording guitar parts, + sub videos, writing TABS an GP5 files. How long does that take?

8-12 hours, depending on the lesson complexity. Some lessons have 15 slow videos, some only 6.

I can do GP file in an hour and I automaticaly have the tab. Just export ASCII from GP. I need about 3 hours for making all the backings. Scale pictures are done in 15 min.

It takes long for the upload. Someties a couple of hours.

Great question!
For me it goes from 4 hours (for exercise lessons usually) to 10 hours for more complex ones...

I can usually get the backingtracks recorded and tabs done in 2-3 hours combined and maybe one hour for the upload and written text on the lesson.
It's the filming that takes the longest in my case which can take 2-6 hours depending on if i'm having one of those days where there's more errors than anything else smile.gif

This can varry a lot, depending what you are making. If you wanna do some tutorial it can easily take 3-4 days, and if you are recording some simple solo lesson with 6-7 videos it can be done in 2 days. By 1 day, I mean around 5-6 hours of time working on the lesson, including recording.

Didn't you make an 11 long hour all nighter the other day just to finish a lesson?

That's hardcore.

I agree with Pavlov, finishing the lesson in 5 hours is impossible mission, at least for me. I need a whole lot more (probably cause I'm slower) smile.gif

Exactly !

I said at least 5 hours smile.gif

If I was making exercise type lesson, without any creativity whatsoever, backing track would take probably 20 minutes, same thing with guitar pro; then it all comes down to graphs, text and actual video recording and editing.
As soon as you have to do more then exercise, then it becomes more time demanding wink.gif

Interesting thread!
For me it takes at least 20 hours. Much of that time is waiting on the computer though, but I got a new one now so It'll speed things up a bit smile.gif

I would also say around 6 or 7 hours. Recording the lesson doesn't really take long, for me the part that I dislike the most and that takes the most time is writing the lesson in GP, I am just not used to wriging my stuff wink.gif

That thread is very interesting.
It's interesting to see that some instructors are faster at tabs, backings or editing.
It would be cool to have a main GMC server for instructors on which we would all have assigned jobs.
One would edit, another would tab, and so forth...
I know this isn't practical, I'm just thinking out loud! :-)
