I know it's not really guitar related but i kinda thaught that you people as fellow musicians would appreciate it.
Don't mind the manga but just listen to the song kinda grips you.

does anyone know any sad classical parts in this style from bach,or anyone..

Perhaps the following Jelle:

Mozart - Elvira Madigan (piano concert 21/KV 467). Not a rgeat example here but one of the few I could find on youtube.

Gorecki - Symphony no 3. Again not a great example. (Some one says elsewhere on youtube- and I'd agree - that the best performance is Dawn Upshaw with Zinman.)

Stravinsky - The Rake's Progress.

Michael Tippett - A Child of our Time.

Cheers,
Tony

And two others:

Samuel Barber - Adagio for Strings. (Everytime I've heard this live it's coupled with the Gorecki 3rd and often Barber's Knoxville, sometime Stravinski's Symphony of Psalms.)

Albinoni - Adagio in G.

Maybe pretty much any adagio might do the trick smile.gif though.

I just handed in a 4000 word essay on this exact piece, thought I'd come on here to try to escape from it but seems it will follow me to the bitter end! tongue.gif

laugh.gif Looks like its set to haunt you to your grave David!

Ah well - could have been 4000 words on the Gorecki - and there's only so many times that you can get away with saying mawkish, sentimental pish rolleyes.gif .

Haha laugh.gif
I once did a 5000 word analysis of Penderecki's Threnody for the Victims of Hiroshima! How do you academically express my initial reaction of; 'It sounds like edit'?! huh.gif

Edit - removal of reference. Tony

Very true David laugh.gif . Though I suppose with Penderecki/Lutoslowski et al you can get away with using lots of long words and meaningless phrases concerning musical development in the 20th C. Musical development - umm now there's something you'd struggle to accuse old Gorecki of wink.gif . I better stop digging at Gorecki - my wife loves him along with Nyman and a whole host of other - no I'd better stop before I get in to trouble unsure.gif .

Anyway - Jelle, ignore by bitterness towards Gorecki - he does do the sad classical that I think you're after very well.
