This video is very cool. I recommend you to watch the whole thing, but I can agree more with the things that Rick says at 11:00.

Yeah, his technique does seem effortless and just the means to a "musical" end.
Very few modern players in any genre have that type of ease when they play. He's ridiculous. I don't say that about many players. This post has been edited by klasaine: Apr 19 2019, 12:46 AM -------------------- - Ken Lasaine

I don't say that about many players. Ridiculous is a good word to describe him when improvising. -------------------- My lessons

Guthrie is sublime.
My second guitar teacher in the 90s actually won Guitarist Magazine's Guitarist of the Year competition at Wembley, the year before, he lost to Guthrie. Guthrie is one of those special people that totally become one with their instrument, his guitar is an extension of his soul. I feel the same way already, though I'm technically and theoretically way behind him. I find it easier to express my emotions through an instrument than mouth. In a few years I might order meals at restaurants by playing music to the waiters That's a nice video, by the way! Very interesting to watch! yes! and related to the other thread, this one is also very inspiring. -------------------- My lessons
