Find it in add/remove programs and delete it. You can also access the task manager by ctrl+alt+delete and then in the process list end the process (though that is only temporally).

You may need to run several different progs to get rid of this malware Sted. Usually the best combination is:

Malwarebytes here

followed by

Lavasoft's Adaware here

followed by

Spybot Search and Destroy here

It's also a good idea to clear trash out of your system first by running ATF_Cleaner here.

As Bogdan suggests you may have to run in safe mode to do this properly as well.

If they don't get rid of it then the next best option is to run Hijack This and post the result on one of the various specialist forums about trojans/malware etc.

I would just suggest getting the freebee version of Lavasoft Ad-Aware and just set it to manual scanning. It should be enough to detect and remove most adware.

Two anti-spyware on manual scan, one anti-virus on automatic, and one firewall which isn't Microsoft is the best way to go.

Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 covers all those areas plus more like anti-spam, phishing, scripts, application control, registry control, etc, it's the best I've used but isn't free. Trial option for 30 days.

As for the video player, just get VLC media player. It's open source and can play almost everthing.

And if you can't go to those websites to download those programs mentioned you will need access to another computer and a flash drive (preferably) to save them to.
