First, Make sure your monitoring environment is set up well with no bass dips or spikes. If there are dips it would force you to mix the bass up to sound ok in your mixing environment which would then sound too bassy everywhere else If your question is more about how to cut out the bass, you could try: 1. Reducing the level of the bass tracks 2. Using EQ to cut out the deeper bass 3. Use EQ to cut bass out of instruments ither than the bass guitar - too much in one frequency space will make things sound very muddy 4. Just a question from my end... did the bass first sound boomy after bouncing and not before?
