There name is Greek for "Beneath" and is associated with ancient deities of the Underworld. Hard to pronounce but cool Killer music too! And yeah the vids are very cool. I"m actually amazed the vid quality is as good as it is given the budget must be amazingly low.
The second vid is dark fare indeed for Taiwanese given the dark times of WWII that still stain Taiwan/China in general. The vocalist is quite impressive and musicality is spiff as well. It doesn't hurt that the bass player is also a stellar looking model named Doris Yeh http://www.ladiesofrock.com/Doris_Yeh_Chthonic_Pictures.html It's also great that they whip out an Erhu (traditional Chinese/Tai Violin) and prayer drums in the middle of a Black Metal show/song. It really adds a new layer and makes them stand out. Band that I've heard before, but I must admit didn't catch my attention before today. Very cool taiwanese black metal band called CHTHONIC, mixing traditional instruments into their black metal. I thought some people on here would be interested, so.. New song: |

Yep
But they are a very known band, really really famous in Asia. Why would you expect their budget to be so low? This post has been edited by Sollesnes: Jun 11 2011, 01:41 AM |

From what I have heard, Metal is a big deal in Asia, especially the more extreme forms, so we can assume they make a bunch of money with this band.
