Hi,

I just recorded the first take on the vocals of my new song. I call it "I feel alive". I would appreciate any feedback on my vocals on this take so I can try to improve for the next take. Since this is my first try I probably will change some of the lyrics, I wrote them on the "fly" so to speak. The chorus is a bit wierd "I feel alive cuz I'm alive" but not everything is normal is this world anyway haha smile.gif

Don't be afraid of really pointing out to me what "sounds" bad and good because I just picked up singing! Just want to get better! On the chorus I sing with "my" normal voice and on the verse I push it a bit to get that Godsmack, Metallica kind of vibe in the voice! Thanks in advance!

Lyrics:

Life tells a lie
remember this if I die
no way I will kneel for you

now I'm alive yes I am
better hide away from me

I feel alive cuz' I'm alive
I feel alive cuz' I'm alive

Feels like before
everytime you close the door
This time I won't take you back

now I stand alone yes I do
better stay away from me

I feel alive cuz' I'm alive
I feel alive cuz' I'm alive
I feel alive cuz' I'm alive
I feel so alive

Hey... actually you're right... haven't listened to P.O.D for a long time but now when I think about it I am kind of PODish in my voice on the chorus haha smile.gif Funny stuff. Well, I think I get better and better vocally... just gotta keep practicing! smile.gif
Thanks Canis...

Thanks Pitch Black (my favourite movie btw), I will try to write some better lyrics smile.gif and I have to finish the song.
A friend will help me out so hopefully this weekend. Thanks again.

Do you have any suggestions for the structure of the song?!

Jonas

Hi men,I like it in general.Singing is good.I think you should practice(use in a song) your normal voice a bit more. That when you do this hard voice in choruses,it would more effective,I like the sound of your normal voice. And I think you should upgrade the lyrics in chorus a bit,ad some different line besides "coz I m a live".IMO
All the best.Keep uploading.

Hehe yes, I already written new lyrics... I just wrote something on the fly when I was feeling the song a bit.
I'll try to sing more relaxed... smile.gif

well, well, well..... first of all Thanxs for share your song!

I like it very much! ... I felt it very familiar because i like that style a lot, it was remind me Metallica a lot!

my technical feedback:

I couldn't hear you always on pitch. I'm sure that's for the technique you are using. When you sing like James Hetfield, (like if you were angry), the sound of the voice is very cool. However it is more difficult to sing on pich when you are singing in that way, because you are not using the total capability of your vocal cords. You are forcing your cords, so you cannot control them like when you sing with your clean voice.

So my advice is to pay attention on that. The rest is perfect! smile.gif

My congrats to you!!!!!
