Toneport GX has loads of effects, amp modeling and stuff, thanks to Gearbox whoch is the software it uses. Nice option.
If you choose Pandora and want to record through USB you'll need PX5D. PX4D would need a very good soundcard, which most laptops lack of. Good luck at your new place Cae! -------------------- Guitars:

I am actually looking for something that has both effects and will enable me to record a bit Any suggestions?

As already mentioned, both pandora px5d and toneport will do the job nicely. Cheapest solution is probably toneport GX.

I am actually looking for something that has both effects and will enable me to record a bit Any suggestions? I would definitly recommend you a line 6 toneport (ux1, ux2 , even gx - only difference is in inputs/outputs)..They are made for recording , easy to use, small, you get a gearbox software with all the amp/cabs simulations and some effects..And they are not expensive...I use toneport ux2 for all my recordings needs at home. p.s. welcome back mate !!! That's cool mate. Pandora is a very useful device, I can't wait to see what sounds you will come up with.

It does seem quite huge to understand and comprehend (even though it's small in size.). I'm sure people around here will be able to guide me a bit to get good sounds from it.
