I'm not hopeful since when bands say there going back to old sound, it always sounds like a disaster.

I remember when Exodus said there new album sounds like Bonded By Blood but faster, I was hopeful. But as it turns out. the whole album was a total joke.

i have no doubt that it will make my ears bleed. the movie Some Kind Of Monster proved to me these guys are all self obsessed, ego maniacal morons. their too caught up worshiping themselves and hating each other to make a great record. i have no doubt they CAN, but they wont.

You have to recognize that these people are operating on a completely different playing field than you or I. They've completely lost touch with reality. First and foremost, on the Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs, they've got the bottom of the pyramid completely covered. All that remains for them is the need for love and self actualization, which is why they're such primadonnas.

Second, they became international rock starts practically over night. none of this being in a band together for like 10 years then finally getting some national recognition. no, they went from playing in clubs one year to touring stadiums the next, pretty much. And they were all in their early 20's. That's really got to distort your world view if you're seeing it through the eyes of a pampered rock star. Now they're 40+ and they don't really know what to do. It's taking some adjusting needless to say.

Plus, Robert Trujillo is in the band now, and having seen Newstead and Trujillo perform with Metallica, Trujillo brings a whole new presence to the band. He's disgusting and 3x the bassist Newstead was.

Everything since ...And Justice has sucked, period (I'll give a nod to Nothing Else Matters).

Revolver in December had an interview with Lars and apparently they've been framing all questions they come across with "What woudl you have done in 1985?". I honestly do have faith in them, I think they're going to deliver.

But then again "St. Anger is the hardest Metallica album to date!" rofl.

Because of St. Anger 'round my neck.

He never gets respect.

St. Anger round my neck.

FYI that was a huge joke between me and my friends when it first came out. Guaranteed to hear "I'm madly in anger with you" whenever we hung out.

I was madly in anger that I bought the c*** lol. biggrin.gif

I think the first mistake was letting Kirk write lyrics. 2nd mistake letting Kirk sing. 3rd mistake not letting Kirk play solos.

PROJECTOR
REJECTOR
INSPECTOR
INFECTER

Give me a break, it goes on for like a minute of just yelling 3 syllable words that end with "ECTOR"

We're definitely not going to see another MOP, I'm geussing that it'll be a mix between Justice/Black/Load. I don't care what they say, they won't be able to get that thrash feel back into their music. They can get it heavy metal again, but I don't think that they'll be able to truly thrash again.

As to St. Anger, it is a horrible album, but I'd still rather listen to it than alot of the nu-metal garbage out there.
