GMC Forum _ Gear (Muris) _ Addictive Drums - Xln Audio

Posted by: Muris Varajic Jul 25 2008, 04:24 PM

Hey guys!! smile.gif

I've just got new version of Addictive Drums
straight from XLN Audio office and got my new endorsement.

Some of you probably know about it but here's few words
about Addictive Drums.
It's Drums VST,optimized at its best,on 1 DVD
and it has its own effects like compressor,EQ,hall etc
so you can make full mix inside of it
without using external plug-ins.

I use it for all my lessons at GMC so if you like the sound
then you might wanna check it out - http://www.xlnaudio.com/?page=home

Cheers. smile.gif

Congratulations Muris !! Listening to your backing tracks, i think you know how to use and tweak Addictive Drums really well .. surely you are a great advertising for XLN Audio.

I always wonder how this endorsement contracts are working. What is the procedure? The companies are contacting you or do you contact them to find some kind of sponsor for your gear?

Maybe you are not allowed to speak about that in detail, but it would interest me. I guess stuff like this is helpful or maybe necessary to survive as a musician.

Thanks guys. smile.gif

Wrk,procedure isn't always the same.
Sometime someone recommend you,
company finds you or you find a company and contact them.

With XLN audio I got in touch regarding to certain technical topics
about VST,I also sent them few samples and latter on we decided
to try it together,to spread the word. smile.gif

Congrats man!

I am sold already on the Addictive drums, i have been playing with the demo for about 2 weeks now. I have been a long time user of EZ drummer, but after hearing Addictive drums when i have the money i will make the conversion.

The biggest lure of Addictive drums in my opinion is being able to tweak the kits to sound exactly the way you want before you even drop a groove into the DAW this to me is great.

With EZ drummer i always had to separate all the drums, change levels, add compression on the kick and snare, EQ the cymbals etc.

I love that all of this is sidechained in the Addictive Software in the beginning so once i have a kit sound i dont have to do it again.

Prety cool! I use the demo, it's hard to make good drumlines. Maybe you can make a video tutorial on how to make, or think of, good drumlines.

There are tons of grooves and fills in midi library,
all you have to do it to drag+drop something
and maybe do some editing to fit your song. smile.gif

Are there any expansions of grooves and fills available as add-on for AD ? I only have ones that come with it as a default , there are lots , but expansion would be cool smile.gif

There is Retro pack but it's not expansion,
more like another VST.
Tho I've heard about some expansions in near future,
we shall stay tuned for sure. smile.gif
