Ok so I was messing around with some chords and played this tune but it sounds SERIOUSLY familiar.
Does anyone recognise it???? (scuse the sound)

Hehe, I know this problem, sometimes I am working on some ideas, and at some point they start to sound familiar, but I can't tell what it is... that's the moment when the idea gets buried

Putting some original vocals/lead melody on top of it would make it your original I believe. The signal was really badly clipped.

There are tooo many riffs with similar idea, walking 5th, min 6th and 4th over fixed root,
I believe you can avoid familiar sounding (if you want) by changing rhythm pattern, rhythm changes everything.
