I just discovered this thing called "Noise gate" on my Pocket Pod's interface.

And I started messing around with it.

and I think I have a grasp on "Threshold" knob (it seems to just control the strength of the gate
(I kinda look at it as the minimum volume allowed, is this correct?)

but there is also a decay knob. and I wasnt sure what that does, as i can hear no audible difference when I am moving it around.

Can anyone help me out please

thanks,

Chris

Threshold relates to the volume below which the gate kicks in, decay will contrl how fast it fades in or out (not sure which as it depends on the design of the noise gate) - basically, if the NG just immediately switched in you would get a click as it went from some low volume to nothing at all, the gate actually fades down the volume slowly enough that you don;t get a click, and you can control how fast this happens.
