GMC Forum _ GEAR & PRODUCTION _ My New Schecter C-1 Classic

Posted by: 29a Feb 4 2009, 04:28 PM

My new guitar finally arrived today. It's a Schecter C-1 Classic.

It's a very beautiful and classy guitar looking guitar:

Features from top to bottom:
- Grover tuners
- Graphtech nut
- Rosewood fingerboard
- Beautiful "vine of life" inlay
- 5 Piece neck through: Mapple, Walnut, Mapple, Walnut, Mapple
- Tonepros bridge
- String through body
- Gold hardware
- Body is bound with wood
- Seymour Duncan Jazz Neck Pickup
- Seymour Duncan JB Bridge Pickup
- Five way pickup selector (that does coil splitting)
- Mahogany body
- Beautiful quilted maple top

The result is one beautiful guitar with endless sustain. It feels and plays really well. Normally when I pickup a random guitar I've got trouble playing it. And when I buy one the first thing I do is setting it up properly. I took this one out of the box, tuned it, and played. It just felt right. I think it feels better than the PRS guitars that I played at the guitar store. The only downside is... it's not really a heavy metal guitar. It's tone is so nice and sweet. But I guess that's just a reason to buy myself a Hellraiser too! biggrin.gif

So if you are looking for a new guitar, make sure you check out a schecter too!

And there are soundclips on youtube played by better players than me.
I won't be able to do that guitar justice for ..oh well at least a few more months.

That's the same experience I had with mine in the store, it's an incredible guitar for the price. Have fun! wink.gif

I recorded a short clip with my new beauty.

http://29a.ch/tmp/c1classic.ogg

The first "lick" is Für Elise by Beethoven. Transcribed and arranged by myself. So it could be completely wrong tongue.gif

The second is http://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/beginner-class-picking-etude/ well the beginning of it. As you can hear I0m still working on the sweeps. wink.gif It reminds me of a bach piece but I can't recall the name.

And the third is http://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/bachs-minue-in-g-major-part-ii/ which is alleged to J.S. Bach as well. Only the very beginning, started to learn it yesterday.

...at least Beethoven and Bach won't sue me for playing their music dry.gif

At least in Switzerland copyright expires 70 years after the death of the author. So those foundations won't sue me either.

Its GT10->ENGL E530 Clean Channel (tube preamp)->GT10 -> Computer. No speaker simulation, just delay and some reverb.
