I've found a chinese copy of a black machine guitar that even has the gaul to put the BLACK MACHINE plate on the back!!! Then again with these you can't really trust the picture as they will often use a picture of the real thing and then send you something entirely different. I am NOT SUGGESTING anyone buy this guitar. Just take a look and buyer beware smile.gif

The real deal is US $10,000 so the idea of seeing one for a few hundred is nuts. One of our GMCers got a les paul from China that he turned in to a real nice guitar as they usually need all the electronics/pickups replaced. smile.gif The trend seems to be the the woods they use are getting better.

They already make most of the worlds cars in china, I guess guitars are next! Here is an article about BUICK making their cars in china and selling them here.

this is not stricly true, because some chinesse guitar builder know how to build nice one.

i have occasion to try some les paul copu, and with good stuff on ( tuner, pickups and electronics,) it sound great.

but , the main issue is about the variable qualitylook at the shop evaluation.

i know one who is really good.........

I think last year I did some digging on copy guitars, there is a lot of info on the web but so much that someone can get lost a bit.

The issue's are with parts like bridges, tuners really. Most comment they start to rust in 6 months to 1 year which is very hard for someone to forsee the day the guitar arrives. Aside ethical thing, thats the main reason I don't suggest such guitars to friends.

Sure there must be nice ones too but I don't like the risk.

That guy is funny though smile.gif But yeah, some chinese vendors are making decent stuff. Even the good ones usually need new electronics. But they are getting better every year. Still, it's a gamble so it's buyer beware smile.gif
