Hey guys im new,

just a quick question, if you had to choose between to amps (ashdown fallen angle 60 dsp all tube)
and a (laney vc30 212)

Which would you go for?

Ive got a 95 american tele and a 2000 epiphone black beauty, i play all types of music really. but not heavy metal so im not to fussed about distorsion, although its nice to have a bit of grunt some times.

The clean channle though must sound beautiful (lol)

help!

thanks a bunch Reece

Never heard of the first brand and laney is quite famous for it's great tone so I would go for the laney...

Whu limit yourself to just these 2 amps. THere are great Fender amps that are made for your Tele smile.gif

Yes, if you're concerned with clean tone fender is the way to go IMO. Almost all fenders have great clean tone that gets pretty dirty and crunchy when you crank it, or a nice drive channel.

Personally I`d get the Ashdown, but I agree with the others, Fenders are prob the way to go for a nice clean tone smile.gif

I've heard the Laney VC30 many times, and I think it just has a beautiful tone, both clean and distorted.
But I've heard many great fender amps aswell, and the fender vibrolux has an especially nice clean tone.

Reece, you could search videos of these amps from youtube, and compare them that way. There's many videos of the Vibrolux and Laney VC30, and probably from the ashdown too smile.gif

I hope you will find what you're looking for smile.gif

I know the Laney VC30 is a really great Amp !! Fender are also a great choice too ! smile.gif

I think I'd die for a Fender '65 Twin Reverb. But the Laney isn't bad but there are much better out there in my opinion.

hey guys, sorry for the late reply. been really busy with work!

well as its christmas coming up i only have about £375 to spend on a amp.

so a decent fender is out the question really, but ive seen the laney vc30 212 for £375 brand new, and the ashown for £300 brand new.

ive researched loads, and looked at vids, but they seem too have good reviews for both.

but i think the laney just wins, over the ashown....

any second opinions?

I suggest that if you like the Laney and you feel that it's the right choice for you, buy it smile.gif I personally definitely would

If you can settle for 15 Watts the Laney LC15R could work for you.

EDIT: it's a 1x10 but if you want to get a cabinet later on that's possible. Or maybe you were aiming for class A?

I agree with many others here. Fender amps have perhaps the best clean tones in the market. Let me know what kind of music you like to play and I can suggest specific Fender Amps to look at as I have played most of them.

However, if your hard set on those two amps I'd go the Laney route.

i cant really live with 15 watts, as i gig alot.

i was mainly looking for class A amps, for there tone.

so it looks like the laney wins =]

i shall update soon as i get it.

also on the side note, whats peoples views on the standard tele pick-ups? over the noiseless ones?

when i first got the tele about 3 weeks ago, i was abit dissapointed with the neck pick up, it sounded really muddy and the bridge pick was really bright.

ive tried playing around with the tone knobs on my amps but i cant seem to get the sound im looking for.
perhaps it would be worth while getting some better pick ups?

What ever amp you select, I hope you take the time to post a few sound clips for us. I looked at a few Laney rigs but nobody around here sells them so I can only check them out on line. Best of luck with your selection !
