Just a question... What is so bad about it ?
I don't understand that.

/edit: Ok, it's a lie, but do you think Japan only produces crap or something like that ?

The factories in Japan is of high class. It's Taiwan and China thats usually lower-end quality.

It just shows their lack of knowledge. It doesn't mean the guitar is poorer quality

That's actually why I asked, because actually the japanese factories are very good.

It's not bad that the guitar is made in Japan, it's just that they say it's made in the USA which it is not!
It's either a lie or shows their lack of knowledge, which is not a good thing about guitars, because I for one would like to trust the specifications of the guitars I buy smile.gif

More often then not a guitar shop just repeats the sales/marketing material from the manufacturer.

From what I've seen Epiphone say that the Elite are made with some US manufactured parts - pickups, switches etc in a special factory but don't state where the factory is located. Perhaps the sales person extrapolated from this and took the factory to be in the States?

Japanese guitar makers are generally very good quality and if Epi keep a close eye on QA then there shouldn't be a quality issue smile.gif .

Cheers,
Tony

My Orville factory Japanese Epiphone is easily on par or above all the Gibson models I tried out before going this route.

Japan makes great guitars. My guess this LP is somewhere between a Korean Epi LP and USA Gibson LP
