(7.75, Pass) Ben's Vibrato Odyssey 1, Lesson By Ben Higgins |
|
Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.
The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Cheers mate, I'm always glad to help
Very good effort on this one, I think you have a nice tone, and decent timing in this take. With vibrato, you still need to increase up & down motion. Left & right motion isn't enough to produce good vibrato with electric guitar strings, it's a bit shallow (although it can sound nice and controlled). Try increasing the bending of the string, and mix that up with the left & right motion you pursuit. It can be better then. I think you missed out this important component, so I'm going to be strict and give you a 7. I think it would be very beneficial to redo this one, so you really get the most of this type of vibrato. I believe Ben should help the best with this type of combined vibrato, as I'm expert for up & down one, so awaiting to see what he'll say This post has been edited by Ivan Milenkovic: Jan 8 2012, 11:37 AM -------------------- - Ivan's Video Chat Lesson Notes HERE

That was a good take, I like the tone,
I don't think it's really easy to do the side by side vibrato, but you did a great job here, I'd say that you need to exaggerate a tad more so that we can perceive more obviously, and try to follow the tempo more evenly with the vibrato -------------------- Visit my:
