Hello! My names Adam Murrell, and I'm from Twickenham, UK - (The heart of Rugby here in the UK, which ironically, I have no real interest in).
Thought I'd do the honourable thing and introduce myself finally, after being a member for a month or so now.
VERY VERY impressed with the diversity and quality of lessons here on GMC!
From an intermediate player's point of view, I find that very hard to find. So... Thanks a bunch.
Seems customary to provide some gear information so here goes!
I bought myself a Fender Custom Shop Special 56' (created an album on the forum to those who might want to check it out, unfortunately can only upload the photo's from the ebay auction, because I have yet to take some decent photo's of the beast - been playing it too much for anything else!) as a 22nd birthday present, to myself (how sad) and is easily the best (and most expensive!) of my gear.
Currently using a Butler Tube Driver with AY7 Tube and a GT-8, into a marshall 30DFX. Also have a Boss Loop pedal, of which I forget the name.
Previous guitars still owned are a Peavey Wolfgang, which I still think is an amazing guitar, and a Yamaha Pacifica, back when I was a real begginer
I also have a very old fender acoustic which to me sounds AMAZING, so won't be replacing any time soon and a cheap twelve string for the fun of it. Couple of nylon guitars sitting around also. In fact, some might say there are too many guitars lying around the room. Personally, don't think its possible to have too many
I guess I'd say I'm at a comfortable level of guitar playing, and am heavily influenced by anything Pink Floyd. I do also have a slight sweet spot for some neoclassical stuff, as it is immensly fun to play. I'd potentially arrogantly say my playing is pretty good, but my theory knowledge is SHOCKING.
Currently mainly improvise over backing tracks and am ashamed to say, pretty much only use the first and second caged position of the pentatonic minor! So my real aim is to broaden my theory vocab, and start exploring some different sounds.
Thats about it guys, sorry to ramble - I warn you, have been known to do that!
Looking forward to getting to know you all.
Adam
