Hey Dudez
Time for another audio collab !
I've taken the backing from my Vibrato Odyssey 5 lesson as it has a cool, lazy sounding groove. Just perfect for some blues rock style licks. I'd like to encourage some of the more metal players among you to experiment with a bluesier approach, maybe even try a different tone, something more woody and less distorted.

The chord progression is A5 (root + 5th), C, G, Fadd9, G7
Scales : Am pentatonic or A minor scale works just fine over the chords !
I'm gonna use my Jackson for this one and take advantage of that neck pickup !
Deadline is Saturday 28th April - or I break both of your arms and plant Justin Bieber cd's in your bedroom
Could I be so bold as to request, you give us the tempo of this fine jam ??
Cheers
Alright, heres my take.....

I have recorded the backing chords myself instead of the only metronome track from last time
Hope this makes it a bit more enjoyable to listen to.
I tried to apply what you told me bout not always starting the lick on the beat or on the next chord, hope it worked to your liking.
Cheers Lixxx
Free Bieber CD's for Non-participation?? How cool are you???
Will participate even though it means no free CD's!!
If I'm not mistaken I only get the Justin Bieber CDs if I join the collab, but don't submit a take...right?
So...I'm in
I know I'm throwing away my chance to get free Justin Bieber CDs, but here is my take
As suggested, I chose a cleaner sound and went a little more John Frusciante style at some parts.
Hef
I guess this is not really my playground. But having a Justin Bieber CD planted in my bedroom would be rather embarassing, so I figured I should give it a shot.

ANOTHER KILLER BEN COLLAB! I tried to do this one pretty much "freestyle" and tried to not overthink/overplay per usual and make it overly technical. Tried to be more organic, let it flow and (SHOCKER) use less gain! So I did two exports, once with my BEN patch and one with the same solo with a bit more grit/fuzz/wah/etc.. I"m also including the TH1 TRIODE bank that I created while I was working on this. It's 6 different patches with wads of stuff in them. Enjoy!

Hey Todd, I can only hear the backing in VERSION 2.
Kick ass stuff Todd.. yeah only the backing is on version 2
Here is the spiff OVERLOUD TH1 PATCH I created just for this killer collab! It's actually an entire bank of patches called the BEN BANK!

And here is the crazy one from the BEN BANK, with wads of FX and GAIN For contrast to the first one which is pretty plain. I dig em both actually!

I don't have any critical feedback for your takes this time because the guitar playing was brilliant from everyone. The only criticisms I have are about tone.
Lixxx, your take suffered from a strange tone that sounds like you've got a flanger effect on it. As a result, some notes sound high, nasal and thin wheras some notes leap out of the speakers with too much bottom end boom. I had to mess around with EQ a bit to try and reduce that booming effect whilst keeping the audio loud enough so try and go for a more natural sound with less bass, a healthy does of mid range and go easy on the treble
H4H, your tone was really nice and woody sounding. Again there was a few moments of bottom end leaping out here and there. I'm not sure how you guys are recording your audio.. maybe there's some way to reduce unwanted frequencies and excess noise ?
Your actual playing itself was fantastic guys, can't fault it !
No tone issues with Gitarrero and Todd. Christian, I like your laid back Frusciante approach - it really works. A few meandering passages here and there which feel like they don't resolve but I'll let you off because I'm sure you improvised the whole thing, like most of us, so you're forgiven.
Todd, I love your playing but I think it's about time you released the inner bluesman in you.. let's get you doing some delta style blues bends and double stops. I think for a future collab we should forbid diatonic scale runs to get me and you totally out of our comfort zones - that'll be fun !!
Thx, Man
Yeah the JM4 does rly mess that up. Nxt recording will be from the BR-800 so should be nicer quality.
Thanks Ben!
Yes, I always improvise...I can't memorize my own solos
Now let's see the "two men transatlantic blues army"! Would be cool to see you and Todd really play different stuff than you use to
