Hopefully this won't affect the quality of TC Electronics (although I don't think that would be the case).

It keeps TC from going out of biz as they have lost market share in recent years to various upstarts and to various plugsins/vst brands. It will hopefully improve the quality of Behringer stuff too I have been impressed with how behringer seems to be buying good companies and adding the good bits to their products. For a long time behringer meant crap, now they have some truly killer products like their new mixer/interface line and mix controllers.

Behringer's reputation is very interesting where I live, on the small parts of the country its praised as being very good. I guess since there aren't much options on small places they marketed themselves very good in certain areas and it spreaded by word of mouth.

But guys like me I guess will never buy a Behringer product yeah all my life it was about how bad they were, I'm guessing they got better but they're still the most affordable as far I noticed and thats a turnoff for me...not that expensive is always good but the cheapest usually doesn't work for me.

You're not alone. I know wads of folks that say "NEVER" to the "B-WORD" But I typically avoid NEVER/ALWAYS things on gear even though I'm pretty fond of some stuff and un fond of other bits. I usually trust my ears over tradition/orthodoxy/experience/history etc. so if I listen to a Behringer bit of kit that sounds good, I'd buy it I already own a Behringer Direct Box rack and headphone preamp that won my personal shoot out tests against other gear. But your mileage may vary!

It all makes me very nervous.

I have no problem with Behringer's quality, especially at their price points. I use one of their DIs as well as a vibrato fx pedal. I also had an 8 ch (unpowered) mixer for years that worked flawlessly.

What worries me is that they won't allow TC to spend the money on R&D that I know they always have. TC products have been some of the best and most forward thinking in the industry for at least 25 years.

I hope they don't cut R&D!! Though TC has lagged a bit of late imho in a few areas e.g. not having usb output/control over the G2 processor. Hopefully the best of both brands will come together for some really use gear. For example, how about a interface/mixer with g2 built in that supports usb recording and wifi control ala behringers rack interface line? Imagine being able to skip the AXE FX etc. and have a band plug in to the interface and control each guy tone/signal from their phone/ipad/bluetooth foot pedal on stage? WOuld sure simplify live work
