Hi, I am a brazilian, almost turning 26, currently living in Denmark.
I started playing guitar at the age of 8, learning classical guitar until 11 (yes I could be a master if I never stopped). After some years without even touching a guitar, at the age of 15 I started learning strumming chords by myself and it did not take me much time to be playing with friends whenever possible. At the age of 17 I was excited about playing and bought an electric guitar, and started classes. I was really good on rhythm guitar and I wanted to learn soloing and etc. Only 3 months later I quited the classes and for a long time (almost 6 years) I did not really learn much on guitar. The reason? Poor instruction killed all my motivation. As a phoenix, reviving from the ashes, 2 years ago, me and some of my best friends made concrete an old dream: we started a band (yes the same friends I played guitar when I was a teenager). At this time, as having my own money I started classes on one of the best guitar schools in Brazil(GTR). The teacher I had was not only good on instructing. He is truly amazing at the guitar. I can't tell you how much I improved in a few more than a year. I was able to do that if my practice time was very little and most of it devoted to learn new songs (to play with the band) When I saw Kristopher's introduction video this sounded pretty much like myself: "A couple of years ago I decided to get serious about the guitar. The reason I did not do it earlier is because I feared I would not have any talent!" 3 months trying to learn with a poor instructor were enough to say to myself I did not have enough talent to play much better then I already did... How wrong I was! The reasons I did not improved were poor instruction and poor practicing! The only reason I quit the good instruction I now had , was because I moved to Denmark to finish my M.Sc 5 months ago. I've been trying to practice on my own and the exercises of the books I have don't look as nice as they did before, with a good instructor explaining them. I was afraid to lose my motivation, but now I found GMC , and I am quite sure it will be the perfect solution for me. I expect to take my playing to yet another level ! -------------------- my "Thank you GMC!" video
