Does anyone have any experience with this pick up. I want thinking about swapping it to my bridge position. But then I read about the screaming demon Sh 10, I dont know which one to go with. Do you other gear heads here have a better pick up to recommend. This will be going in my shred machine guitar mostly metal, leads type stuff. Then I need a new one for the neck spot too, Not sure what to pair these with...

Any help would be appreciated.

It would help to know what guitar you are going to put the pickup in (make, woods, construction, hardware...)

The sh-8 is a really heavy sounding metal pickup with lots of low end and a ton of distortion (Tech Death Band Nile plays them aswell as the lead guitarist of Avenged Sevenfold)

The sh-12 is george lynchs signature pickup so if you are into dokken or lynch mob you might like this pickup. I don't have any experience with the humbucker because I really hate his playing and tone!

Tell me your guitar and some bands you like and I can suggest you some pickups

the invader will have a great distortion for rythum but a little treblely with lead and if you play a lot cleans i would find a differnt pickup than the invader. If your are just metaled up , get the invader

Well it will be going in a custom carvin d400, I have it posted for sale in the classifides. I was thinking that if no one buys it I may just change out the pick ups and keep her. She has and very fast neck and is a joy to play. Has gold hard ware, mahogany body wings, and maple neck through design. The existing pick ups just seem life less to me. I play and listen to everything from blues to thrash metal.

I wanted to make this one my leads, and heavy rock metal axe.

I have a 79 fender with texas specials in it, I use for my blues and lest distorted stuff I play.. The fender has a nice bell like sound.

maybe you can suggest something based from this...

thanks for the help

Ok now I know the guitar but I still need to know what type of sounds you want to achieve for a general direction of what you want your guitar to sound like (just name some bands or songs)

I can say from experience that in maple-neckthrough guitars the EMG 81/85 setup is just a killer combination for metal rythm and leads!
It's always cool to have a guitar with active pickups and I am sure they will make your Carvin scream!
