Ewwwwwwwwwww
I'm in a guitar slump again, I HATE the feeling of not even liking guitar. I went to jam with my friend last night and I just had nothing. It's like I forgot how to play guitar, I couldn't do descending 3 nps runs, sweeping was like I learned it yesterday, couldn't come up with any melodies, and worst of all - absolutely no consistency in my rhythm playing.

Every few months this happens, though I must admit since I joined GMC a lot less often.

This slump feels very guttural though.

It's depressing almost.

BLEHHHHHH

I voted Never, as I've never caught myself not liking/enjoying the guitar smile.gif

Sure, there's times when I don't play as well as I should, I can't record due to me being awfully off on my playing, times I wish I knew any theory at all, times I wish I learned faster etc.
But during those times I just play, for fun smile.gif
And when I'm good to go again, I practice and record a bit!

So yeah, every now and then I get these feelings you talk about, just not as strong I believe...

I may've over stated myself. I don't hate the guitar, but I certainly don't love it at this particular juncture!

I always like guitar... but sometimes I just play, and don't feel anything... sad.gif

But I've only been in about two slumps since last christmas, and only one was after joining GMC...

Ive got mad school work and guitar has just sort of been leaning against the amp.. ive got a gig coming up and the songs are all easy and boring so ive been sort of ignoring my guitar.. i consider this a slump. its not that i mind picking it up i just don't want to because i have more important things to do ohmy.gif.. not that this is possible tongue.gif but getting my registration for second semester + bills to pay + midterms = not much spare time

I also voted never.

What I do if I start going in that direction, I just start playing simpler things that sound nice.

It happens man , don't worry much! Its all in our head ! I notice it especially through sound, sometimes when I feel down , when I play guitar sounds "bad" to me..Like strings are old and similar..But I'm just imagining it because of my mood smile.gif Tomorrow everything get back to normal and sound cool!

What's a slump? sad.gif

It basically means going through a bad time with your playing when you feel you can't nail a riff or perfect a solo etc.
