Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Original lesson: Fingerstyle Blues Patterns by Nicola Mandorino

Hello everyone,

After about 2 years of not playing guitar at all i decided to give it a go again at guitarmasterclass.
I normally only played electric guitar with a pick, so this was quite something different to start out with again.
I recorded this take in 2 sessions.

For the recording i used a Line 6 POD studio GX and with it pod farm 2.0 into Audacity.
I noticed that the volume i was getting from my guitar was really low compared to the backing track
so i had to put a +20dB gain on it in Audacity. Even with that it sounds a bit low...

Let me know what you think.

-Jasper

Hi mate! Welcome back to guitar! I wonder why you haven't been playing for such a long time! Your playing on this lesson is good, you keep the timing correctly and there are some moments where the dynamics go great with the backing. There are some patterns that still need some work because some notes don't sound or sound too loud, but it's just a matter of practice. Keep on playing this one at least twice every day and start working on new lessons.

Also, contact me if you need some help designing your guitar plan! Cheers.

There is nothing to be ashamed of in this take smile.gif Good groove, good dynamics and not much to complain about precision (we're not computers though) Well done. Just a few tine details to fix pointed by Gabriel

Hey mate! Gabi is right about putting a little bit more time in this one, but I liked the vibe, it's really groovy and soothing, so just gaining a little more confidence with more practice will only make it sound even better wink.gif

Keep bluesing!

Cosmin
