I'm thinking of my dream guitar collection which I will be putting together over the next couple of years, and it has to feature an Ibanez for shredding and whammy-ing to the max ... I thought that some Ibanez guitars came with Floyd bridges but I don't see any on their site - did I miss something? Also, how do the various Ibanez bridges compare to a Floyd (or to others Ibanez's range?) I see the ZR bridge, and the Edge III mentioned a lot - anyone care to explain the differences?

i think the edge Pro III is better than the floyd, thats what i use, it seems more stable to me, although they both work of the same principals, and both are a good buy and reliable.

The "Lo-Pro" or "Edge" are the best and most stable floating bridges (licensed by floyd rose) which feature on high end Ibanez models however now theyve upgraded to the "Edge Pro x" models. The Edge pro is said to be the best I've read. Not exactly sure, but the Ibanez Jem's come equipped with the Edge Pro as do high end rg/prestige models. Do not go for a Edge Pro II as they are far less stable and are based on the Inferior TRS-II bridges which are known to suck incredible ass .

//edit: If u live in the states and want to purchase an Ibanez of the BEST quality, visit www.Ibanezrules.com - Rich buys the guitars, then mods them and makes sure that they are in perfect condition and playabiliy before shipped to you. Check the site out. I do not live in the states however I have just ordered an Ibanez Jem7vwh from there. !

Thanks guys, that helps a lot - I'm currently liking the look of the RG range, maybe with the through neck ... a Jem is probably way too much as this wouldn't be my main Axe, just one of several

Does anyone have an opinion on whether the thru neck is worth the extra? Presumably it helps with sustain?

Oh, and thanks for the www.Ibanezrules.com link - I'll check it out!
