and im sitting here working on muris' alternate power chords lesson (yes i am a noob, and proud)
i went to bed at 10 wih\th all intentions of sleeping and i just couldnt , so i ended up playing,
my question is, is there a dissadvantage to working on new techniques(or in this case unfamiliar power chords) while your body is fatigued?
i cant really tell right now i seem to be doing fine, but im just asking for future reference.

Haha tongue.gif

Dunno about playing before you sleep, but when you play when you wake up, you'll notice that your body is rested, and you might master things you practiced yesterday ^^

I make a habit of cutting of practice before 7:30pm because im generally fatigued by that time. Also if i practice late into the evening I dont sleep well at all and dream about practice all night (which isnt as fun as it may sound tongue.gif )

So, I actually get up really early to practice, and then practice before dinner time. I generally find my playing is most accurate in the morning though smile.gif

Well, considering that almost all of your progress is made while you sleep I certainly wouldn't recommend it.

I often find that I can get so engrossed in what I`m doing that I ignore my tiredness, but inevitably mistakes start creeping in and then frustration, I try to stop playing when I feel tiredness setting in, depends on how technical a piece is I`m trying to play, sometimes I suffer with Mattacuk syndrome and dream about it laugh.gif

I dont think its so much detremental to you in the long run, just when your tired (mind & body) you will make a lot more mistakes, just like trying to do anything else I guess, your body wants to sleep smile.gif
