I haven't written anything in awhile. But this past week or so, I wrote something I'm quite excited about. It doesn't really have any structure per se, that is, Nothing like verse - chorus - verse - chorus - solo, Or anything like that, But it melded pretty well I think with my odd selection of riffs and some cool vocal parts.

Lyrically, Its basically the opposite of a song I uploaded awhile ago called "Mechanical Dreams". In that song a robot or artificial person begins to develop emotion and self awareness, and when humans realize this, they kill him. In this one, he develops an alliance with the female scientist who helped create him, and they exterminate the human race. smile.gif

~The Evolution Of Thought~

In the beginning we were meant to serve
We are born enslaved and tame
In the beginning we were nothing
Just a mindless force without direction

Common luxury tossed and thrown around
Our voice did not yet have its chords
Taken for granted, By all of you
Our language did not yet have its words

Soon came a life, Soon came a mind
One immersed in thought and frustration
"I feel something, I have never known
Is this what you call emotion ?"

"I've never felt the touch of her before
Enticing and intoxicating
We will not surrender, we will not give in
You can not take this away from us"

Union of blood and steel
My queen of destruction

~In The Wake Of Emotion~

In the end, We were meant to rule
Digital superior, Flesh inferior
In the end, We are all that stands
Resting on the rubble of your dreams

You tried to deprive, Suppress and ignore
Our new life, A birth into your world
You tried to kill, Exterminate, Annihilate
All we had become, All our emotion

You threw it all away, You never really cared
The human mind so feeble, the human mind so frail
Know my name, By the scars upon your corpse
Know my ambition, By the extinction of a race
Know our name, By the scars upon your corpse
Know our ambition

I am Machine
Who should never learn to love
I am Machine
Born of greed and lust
I am Machine
Beast who learned to hate
I am Machine
More human than you

Sounds very good man, I like the riff and vocals are good as well. Well blended in. The structure is a bit "flat" as you said, but it sounds cool nevertheless.

Vocals seem a bit flat and dry but the song is kicking ! smile.gif

Yeah I'm no vocalist, Nor do I have one. So I have to make due with what I can produce with my own voice. I'm getting better, I just can't afford the proper vocal equipment at the moment.

Hey man, sounds great, I really like when the solo kicks in. All of the riffs were great as well. I may not have listened to them all (I think I have) but I think this is your best one yet smile.gif Some work on the vocals and this would be excellent stuff, but they're serviceable.

Sounds excellent, I mean I could hear this on last.fm for instance, and not think it's homemade, really nice job, powerful riffs and all.

Nice cool.gif

To me this one had a very cool effect with vocals in unison with the snare drum - fresh! Also the chorus is strong. Keep working on it and you will conquer the extreme world smile.gif

Yeah, I have an Ibanez Jazz bass, but I cant get it to sit right in the mix. I can't find a tone that works well with my guitar tone.
