Watched some Youtube clips of him and wondering what's a good cd to start with, I like his rootsy playing.
He's done so much great stuff!
As for a band that featured him, Storyville. The record 'Dog Years' is a good one to start with.
Here's a youtube playlist for that band ... https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=Dog+Years+%28Storyville+album%29&oq=Dog+Years+%28Storyville+album%29&gs_l=youtube.3...5182.5182.0.6043.1.1.0.0.0.0.86.86.1.1.0...0.0...1ac.2.96knlf7i44I
Thanks
I'll give them a listen
I don't know him but I did a quick search and found this cool performance..
Also a very early, if not one of the first (along with Santana), PRS players/endorsers/sig model.
I'm not a fan of Prs guitars, there is something about them that doesn't appeal to me, especially the pickup selector behind the bridge (I know they aren't the only ones that do that) but I don't like the aesthetic of it. But versatility and tone wise the Prs DGT sounds great!
On a side note I got his last album Way Deep Down, great playing but distractingly awlful lyrics.
I think I'll look at Joe Ely and quite a few others before I delve into The Dixie Chicks discography!!!!!
