How To Blow An Interview/audition For A Band

I've been doing that in the past, but I'm looking for a new church/band, so I sent them an e-mail. They sent me back a list of songs to learn and a day to show up for an audition and interview. The audition part went pretty well. I screwed up one of the licks because they were playing it in a different key than the recorded version, but I was able to adjust and continue. The post-audition interview went pretty good too until they asked me what type of music I listened to. I replied that I was pretty into guitar heavy stuff and that I really liked Vai, Satriani, Gilbert, Paco de Lucia, Brad Richter... Then I said my favorite bass player was Les Claypool. I'm not going to go off on a rant about the suspected hypocrisy of not considering you because of the fact that your favorite music did not include something "less questionable", because I don't know for sure.
