Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Very nice - with your choice of lessons you will become a killer funk guitarists - no doubt about it!

Much of my feedback to your other REC takes applies here as well ( https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/guitar_fo...showtopic=58842 )

However this one had a different funk rhythm and I could not hear any obvious misses here. At 00:42 there is a sustain problem when you slide but that's no biggie.

You get a 6 from me - keep up the great work!

Hey there Tom!

Generally your take is pleasant and doesn't have any distracting issues.

I think that your hand dynamics could be more even. It affects not only the volume but also the tone. In original lesson Staphane has a great control over both - volume and tone. It's even visible that he get's his warmth by controlled strums, instead of tone knob adjustments. Strat is a generally bright guitar but we can still get a variety of tones with our hands. In your take some strums get below the track and sound shy, while some are sharp and confident. We often speak of dynamics range but in this particular case it doesn't refer. For perfect funk rhyhtm player it's good to be able to make things sound even and cut through a dense drum tracks. You also seem to have problem fretting triads in high fretboard positions.

Just keep on working. Everything is going in the right direction wink.gif

Hi again mate!

The same things that I've commented on the other funk lesson can be applied to this one. By the way, your rhythm has improved a lot from what I remember it was in your early REC takes. This reflects that hard work shows results. Congratulations!!!
