> Rules

Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Original lesson: El montunito by Gerardo Siere

I played it with the back track and without so you can compare. Honestly the backing track would be better without the guitar. It makes it sound like 2 guitars playing the same song.

Hi mate! Thanks for this new take. You are always making it sound really good. However I can note that there are still timing issues that are even more notorious because of the guitar included in the backing. Keep on practicing it to make it sound tighter.

Hey mate - that was very fast smile.gif

I mean, we suggested the re-recording and presto! You made it happen smile.gif This is a good thing and not - you rushed to get things done, but you should've taken some more time to make sure that everything is in place and maybe spend some time with the slow backings as well wink.gif

The groove is far from simple so give it more time, deal?

Cosmin

I understand now. Indeed it would be great without guitar in the backing. Unfortunately there is also a timming judgment problem with this very specific rhythm if there is no beat keeper in the take. I'll try to figure out something. For now You can try to make simple experiment. Try to record with the original track and Pan Your guitar 100% L, and the backing 100% R. You will perfectly hear the moments of difference in rhythm smile.gif
