They might be trying to sound evil. But it doesn't work for me.

This fits my mood more right now:

I've understand why people like death metal even though I don't like it myself, but this. blink.gif

Posted by: Bogdan Radovic Aug 23 2009, 05:12 PM

heeh I guess you can find anything on youtube smile.gif

Posted by: Ivan Zecic Aug 23 2009, 05:38 PM

awful!

Posted by: superize Aug 23 2009, 06:04 PM

I am a big fan of extreme music but this is just awfull

Posted by: Lian Gerbino Aug 23 2009, 06:07 PM

well, brutal + grind + blastbeats = this.

there´r many people out there who like this kind of metal tho. you know guys, it´s a free world smile.gif
in my case, I have to say that this is not completely awful to me but anyways I can understand why people hate it XD

Posted by: Kristofer Dahl Aug 23 2009, 06:10 PM

Listening with my "good" ear - and I have no problem capturing the aggressiveness and intensity in this. I guess this just confirms once again that the charm of music lies in individuality/personal preferences. Wouldn't it be pretty cool to, let's say, add an opera voice on top of this crazy arrangement..?

Now the actual "video" content is a different story biggrin.gif

Posted by: Alex87 Aug 23 2009, 06:10 PM

The longest and most painful 4 minutes of my life (call me crazy for listening to it all the way) blink.gif

Posted by: Matt23 Aug 23 2009, 06:15 PM

I think it would be alright if they hadn't put white noise over the song.

Posted by: Trond Vold Aug 23 2009, 06:19 PM

It's not something i would listen too, but it's not "that" bad smile.gif There's alot of people who really gets into and understands this music.

It's practically like listening to a more industrialized version of Ulver - Nattens Madrigal.

By the way do we have a wiki article or something explaining all these styles - I'd love to understand more about them (Brett where are thou?!)

I need more articles for the Genre Wiki!! biggrin.gif

As for that track?
Not my Cup of Tea but there's definitely a market for it!
smile.gif

Posted by: Jerry Arcidiacono Aug 23 2009, 06:50 PM

I don't know if it's the worst music ever but probably it's not the best one biggrin.gif

Posted by: skennington Aug 23 2009, 07:13 PM

definitely not for me but as some have said, I'm sure they have some loyal fans out there.. blink.gif If there getting paid, and doing what they love, I see no problem.. smile.gif

Posted by: Ivan Milenkovic Aug 23 2009, 07:23 PM

Brutal composition indeed. I believe there are people who can actually listen to this, but I'm not one of them. I do not dislike it but I do not like it either. This kind of music just doesn't bring any emotions in me, so I guess it's not for me..

Posted by: Emir Hot Aug 23 2009, 07:26 PM

OMG smile.gif I survived until the 1st minute

Posted by: audiopaal Aug 23 2009, 07:38 PM

Well, if they didn't peak the mix throughout the whole song and/or put extra noise on it,
it might actually have sounded like... well... music smile.gif

But that song mixed/mastered like it is was just dreadful to my ears..
But I can see that there's a market for it smile.gif

Posted by: Artemus Aug 23 2009, 08:34 PM

So I'm going to be the "weirdo" that actually likes A.N. tongue.gif
They're not exactly easy listening, even if you are a fan of extreme metal and it took me a while to lower the raised eyebrow I had when I first heard them. Even now, I could only take it in small doses because their material is so misanthropic.. if you are feeling great and love the world and want to do something to change the way you feel, then Anaal will definitely dampen that joy.
That said - I wasn't too impressed with the example posted; the production was a bit too much at the high-end for my liking.
this is a better choice:

..some riff variety, progression, not entirely blast-beated and some lead guitar and clean vocals too! The riff at 3:36 is pretty noice too

I think Anaal Nathrakh are awesome. I actually have this album and this is a rather awesome song off of it. If your ears aren't tuned to it then it will sound like noise. But I can pick out every riff and note as clearly as if it was Eric Clapton or Eric Johnson playing smile.gif

This isn't even scratching the surface of some of the more extreme stuff that would be considered even more "Inaudible" to most people.

Anaal Nathrakh are just plain good music cool.gif

That song rocked! The part that starts at around 2:18 and to around the break at 3:30 was just beautiful. Reminds me of the good parts of Emperor, but with less pretentiousness.

It's so hard to explain this to someone though laugh.gif

I don't blame anyone who thinks its bad, but this is a music that requires you to really concentrate, listen, observe, and infer exactly what is going on, And yes, it is music. Best way to describe it is Organized Sporadic Chaos. It seems random and just noise but its really a well thought out process in many cases smile.gif

Maybe when I have some time I'll do some Wiki articles on the darker, more extreme sub-genres of metal smile.gif

Posted by: Guitarman700 Aug 23 2009, 10:10 PM

Love It. People need to realize that their tastes are not universal.
That is all

Since we are speaking about it now - could you give us a link to something which you do think that even open minded people will consider as audible..? ph34r.gif ( To this day I haven't heard any death metal where I couldn't appreciate something in)

Posted by: The Uncreator Aug 23 2009, 11:02 PM

I've heard more people complain about The Berzeker than anyone else really laugh.gif

Although its not too bad at times, I personally hate that snare sound though.

That confuses a lot of people laugh.gif At least there super high pitch riffs

When I was in school, sometimes a person would be creative, do something original. Like the guy who wore Zoot Suits that he got from thrift shops every day senior year. Others would just annoying just do something for attention that required no talent or skill, like farting in class. However in today's culture, we are taught to be broadminded, and appreciate the efforts of others, even if it is a lot like farting.

Posted by: Gary Aug 24 2009, 12:05 AM

Well, if it's not... it's close wink.gif

Posted by: enforcer Aug 24 2009, 02:58 AM

its a matter of choice I think. Not for me, not for me at all. Maybe running amok, but not now definitely.

Posted by: TheKeplerConjecture Aug 24 2009, 03:05 AM

Hahaha... I actually like this band. They're pretty terrifying. That example is from their first album. Their newer stuff is much more technical and structured. It's definitely NOT the worst music ever. How 'bout this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EUM6fZFYWzk

Posted by: VinceG Aug 24 2009, 07:04 AM

I don't see anything wrong with it, then again my ears are already tuned to this style of music.

Actually I liked this much better, and I listened to 3 more clips by that band trying to find anything redeeming (I failed). At least this guy is kind of funny. Also notice that there is a Female in view, and she looks decent. Always a bad sign to me, lack of women in the audience. If I was a female, and I looked at that audience in the clips I saw, man you could not pull me in there. On second thought, you would have your pick of the bunch. On third thought, the pick'ns look pretty slim, pretty grungy looking bunch of guys jumping around like stripe assed apes. Not what most women look for in a guy.

Ugh, I hate screamo, dog barking music with repetitive riffs and the constant pinch harmonic between ever four measures.

I really wish I did not have to subjected to it, but I date a girl all into stuff that involves not understanding the lyrics.

I dunno how you can make it even 15secs into this

That video was horrible, i listened for a minute to see if there would be any variety or anything that sounded remotely like there was some talent in their, but nope... It really just sounds like noise to me. I'm open to listen to any kind of music as long as their is some talent and/or originality, but obviously none in this video lol.

Posted by: Braer Sep 4 2009, 10:23 PM

this remindes me of a norwegian called Gorgoroth....

This type of music makes me SICK!

Just my opinion:)
