Hi all,

I finally managed to do a recording with my new toneport and focussed on some leadline i was developing on top of a simple cord progression. I basically came up with that during jamming and enlarged on the main ideas later on.

So please listen to the result here.

I would be very interested in your feedback and advice.
Please let me hear your ideas and express what you did and what you did not like about basically everything.
Sound, melody, rythm, techniques you can hear ....

Based on your feedback I will try to work on my weaknesses and hopefully present you a new better recording in future.

Thanks in advance for support!!!

Hi there,

I just joined GMC 10 days ago and thought its about time to say hi.
Well I must say GMC seems to be an excellent source of information and teaching which defintely will help to improve my guitar playing.

I have my guitar 10 years by now, but was not too active in most of these years. So now I said to myself: what is all this about? comon and try to start over with some help and here I am!

Compared to what i have seen so far I would judge myself a beginner and appreciate very much the videos (especially those where the instructor explains something with words).
So far I have been looking here and there and tried to establish a training routine for myself using the bookmarks. I am realy looking forward to learn about all the features you offer at GMC and hope to talk to you soon.

Cheers

Hey Kris,

I am quite new to GMC and by taking a look around i found your great "Kirk Hammett Solo Tricks" lesson.

Although I am far from playing like that, I still am very interested in the method of creating a drum/rythm and solo part in a similar manner. That means:
a) having realistic drums in the background to get the groove,
b) record and loop a rythm part and finally
c) practice a solo/improvisation to that.

My related questions are:
- Could you please help me out and explain how recording and looping the rythm part in connection with drums is working? (e.g. from equipment point of view)
- The looping devices I know of have only a simple metromom click incorporated. Did you use an additional tool to have also drums for this lesson?
- Have the drums sounds also been looped or were they seperately running all the time?
- How did you practically start the drums before using the looping device? (e.g. using another foot switch?)

If I would be able to understand this I could use this method for my studies of rythm parts connected to real drum sounds and later on selfmade solos or improvisation to the loop at home. That would be great.

Thanks for your explanations in advance.
