Artic white should be whiter than white

olympic white has a blueish tint to it...

If you purchase new arctic white, it should be plain white. But in time it gets a nice yellowish color to it. Everything becomes more yellow in time, pickguard, knobs, pickup covers..

The biggest difference I see is that the "70's" model has an Ash body with U-shaped neck where as the Standard body is alder with a C-shaped neck. As to which is better? I think it's more of a preference thing. To me, the C- shape has a more natural feel and I'm used to Alder bodies of my Jackson's so the Standard would be my choice of the two. smile.gif

Mine is an American Standard...Olympic white with maple neck. Here are the most recent pics of it. It has a slightly creamier tint than the pure white. I like it MUCH better than plain white. Oh...and I had the pinstripes added later!

Any of these two is good, you won't make a mistake taking any of them. It's all about what you think about the tone of both of them. Gotta try it out to see yourself.

ya thats whats awesome about olympic white it ages and changes color. even the really old strats that were once white turn out to look yellow and have a very vintage look.

I have both an original 70's ash strat and a new mamlsteen strat (alder). The ash guitar weighs about twice as much.. its like a tank. They are both good but I really prefer the lighter weight of the newer alder bodies. All comes down to personal choice.

Cheers and good luck.
