As to which is better? I think it's more of a preference thing. To me, the C- shape has a more natural feel and I'm used to Alder bodies of my Jackson's so the Standard would be my choice of the two. The ash guitar weighs about twice as much.. its like a tank. They are both good but I really prefer the lighter weight of the newer alder bodies. All comes down to personal choice.
