I'm looking for a microphone for home recording.

I would say SM58 is good for anything, it's an industry standard for vocal mics. It should handle screams/growls just like any other singing.

Sorry I didn't understand properly, I somehow though it was for live! Yes enforcer is right, if you wanna record at home than condenser mic and a solid mic preamp are what you need.

Not crazy enough to come up with something as brutal as that. And it is truthfully real. A band/person by the name of Vlad Tepes was the first one to do it. There's also one in US where Sunn's singer Malefic (of Xasthur) was put in a coffin inside of a hearse and mic'ed him through it giving it a more destructive, evil, and nightmarish effect. Maleifc is also claustrophobic so yeah, imagine being in his position.

No, because Toneport UX1 doesn't have a phantom power for condenser mics. You need a mic preamp that will have phantom power.

You can get UX2 , it has both mic preamp and phantom power..That way you get the recording interface as well

I own an MXL 990 Condenser Mic that is great for Vocals. They are cheap to. You can get one for under 100 Euro with a shock mount. Unbeatable for the price and superior in sound quality to an SM58 IMHO.
You can start without a nice Pre-Amp if budget is an issue. Having a nice PreAmp for your mic will always make it sound better but we are talking about 500 Euro to 1000 Euro for a nice Tube Mic Pre Amp. If your Budget is 100 Euro, you can pretty much forget about adding a nice pre-amp. I think some of the responders missed the budget constraint. Choosing a mic always depends on what and who you are going to record. From my experience the best mic that I tried for growling & screaming is the Shure Sm-7. It a dynamic mic very used for rock & metal. However it is more expensive than the SM 58. So, maybe the 58 would be a good option if the priority is to record screaming voices.
