Guy's, this may be a stupid question, but does the sound from your guitar only come out of the computer speakers when you connect it up to the GX? I know it's for recording but I like the idea of changing the guitar sounds, like some of the examples in the tutorial vids.

I am thinking of getting one, but I see that you use a USB connector to connect it to the PC and the standard Jack to connect the guitar to it. Where does the sound come out? Just the pc speakers? or can you play the adjusted sound through your amp somehow?

your help would be appreciated

Eric

You are supposed to use it through your computer speakers/monitors, it has a phones/speaker 1/8 inch connection on its back.

I guess you could also hook that to an amp using a 1/4 inch adapter if you wish, but that's not really the way it's intended to be, as it emulates amps on its own.

As Fran said, it basicly gives sound out of your computer speakers! I have a question myself, what's the difference between the Pod Studio GX and the Toneport GX? I mean, you can just download Pod Farm for free, so what's the difference apart from 50% price raise?

Pod Farm stand alone app is a free download, but Pod Farm plug-in is not. I believe you get the plug-in with Pod Studio.

As for the hardware itself, Pod Studio & Toneport are exactly the same as far as I know.

You can use both Pod Farm and/or Gearbox with them.

That's true, both devices (apart from color) are the same.

So the extra money is just for Plug in? Is that for use with DAW? Sorry for hijacking your thread wink.gif

Well it's a good trade off, considering POD Farm plugin alone costs 100$. You get POD Farm for 50% discount practically. It's useful to have it in plugin form, if you want to reamp stuff later, but I Think Toneport is just as good. Reamping old tracks with POD Farm is not something that a lot of people will do for serious projects anyway.
