It's about time Jeff Loomis caught a break IMHO. His tour van got broken in to last year and most of his guitars got ripped off. He did have a great spin of luck with his kickstarter band project and now this!

ARCH ENEMY has asked Jeff Loomis to join the band!! I like ARCH I'm not a "Mega Fan" by any stretch, but I've always liked what they do. Great to see new blood coming in IMHO. The last guitar player was impressive, but always felt like a hired gun that was brought in for "cred". Loomis seems a bit more mature and I think he will integrate as a band member a bit better, but we shall see Congrats Jeff!!

that's gonna be insane Kinda brave of Michael Amott to bring in such an excellent guitarist. I'll be very keen to hear the new line up.

A surprise move but very cool.. I look forward to hearing them together. Hopefully he'll do an album with them after the tour !

I've always thought that Michael was always the old school Schenker style player, with brilliantly tasteful leads.. the 2nd guitar player has always been a bit more.. 'flash' than Michael anyway so I think it's no biggie. I think any musician should always be prepared to work with someone of higher capability and not let ego get in the way of the results.

But I do see what you mean, anyone sharing the stage with Loomis has one hell of a sparring partner to work with !

Wowie ! I am not a BIG CRAZY fan of either, but I've heard them a bit and they both sound amazing !! I'll be an Arch Enemy follower soon I guess

Me too!!! The last guy that was in the "Second Chair" was an amazing player but never really got to shine IMHO. His style was actually a bit much for ARCH IMHO. I think Jeff will be a great fit
