GMC Forum _ CHILL OUT _ Critter In My Dryer Vent Tube
Posted by: skennington Feb 7 2009, 05:27 PM
Hey guys, I have a little problem here. There's something in my dryer vent tube and I'm a bit hesitate to pull the hose off. I'm thinking it's a bird for the fact the outlet outside the house is about 15 ft in the air, but then again...
What ever it is, he's wanting out and making quite a fuss in there. Any idea's? My kid's don't want me to pull the hose either..

My thinking was a rat too but the outlet is awful high for a one and we we have vinyl siding. My fear is, it's a bat. And I hate those things.

I suggest you await for a gigant spider to go up there and take care of the bat, then open it

No way man, I hate those things too...
Going in there after my wife get's home from work to help keep the kids away. I'll take a photo if my find is anything interesting.

The other morning I found a opossum in the dog food bin. Can't be worse than that!

What did you do to that little guy? You can't even tell it is a bird.

Wow, poor bird.

If it hadn't got feathers, I would've thought it was a bat

Yea, looks like a bat.
I got one of those guard cages for my vent leading to the kitchen stove. They used to make a nest right in the side of my house and soak up the fine aromas coming from my cooking
As for the cage guard. Works perfect, haven't had a problem since *thumbs up*

It's a bat wearing feathers for disguise.

Seems the problem persists. After removing the bird, which seemed to be dead for a while, I'm still hearing a critter in there. Now I'm thinking it's a rat that was feeding on the bird and was coming for breakfast this morning.
But how in the heck would a rat get in that tube? The opening outside the house is 15ft in the air..

Possibly 2 birds got in?
