Wilkinson Vs100c Locking Trem, Info needed!! Please Help

Oct 7 2007, 06:35 AM	GMC:er Posts: 13 Joined: 3-December 06	Hello, I have been looking for a Wilkinson VS100C Trem for quite a while. The C stands for convertable meaning the trem locks when the bar is not being held on to, making it a hardtail bridge. They don't sell them in the USA anymore because Gibson had a patent design that was too similiar. Anyway I finially found one on ebay, except that it is missing the aluminum cover plate that mounts on the back of the guitar and of course the cup that holds the bar that mounts to it. If anyone here has a guitar with this set-up, I would really like to see a picture of the cover and cup, so I might make my own. Or any info that might help. Also anyone tried the Trem King yet? If you cannot find the parts from Wilkinson, try Carvin.com . They have a section on the site for parts ordering and a help section, I am sure they could help you get it. Thanks for the reply, but I don't think Carvin will be able to get the parts I need as they are located in the USA. And Wilkinson can't sell the version of the trem I have because of US patent laws. I'll either have to find someone with parts from a old convertible trem, or make my own parts. Still looking for any other advice. There are several forums that came up where people are looking to replace this system with the new 300 model. Maybe posting in a few of these will get the factory parts you need ? Several people posted just 2 weeks ago about changing to the 300 model, maybe you could post requesting to purchase the parts you need. Also I sent e mail to Carvin's help center explaining what parts you listed. Maybe they will have them, who knows it was worth a shot . When Carvin responds I will let you know what they suggest. Another possibility might be to buy a used guitar with a Vs100c fitted and cannibalise it. _ Maybe not a great option since if the trem is fitted to Eggle's and Suhrs then even used they won't be cheap unless you can find one with a busted neck or similar. Just a suggestion though as I have a friend who has a Steinberger transtrem and he cannabilised another guitar for bits for it . They cannot send me a schematic of that tremolo due to the copyright issues, but they did suggest trying allparts.com . A representative from the Carvin parts department says you should be able to find all the parts you need on their site. I hope this helps Hey Thanks again, I went to allparts website, and looked through the whole thing. They had VS100 trems, but the one I,m looking for is VS100 CV. The CV is for convertible, meaning it locks into a hardtail. I did a patent search and found the patent pics. They are somewhat crude drawings but gave me an idea of what I need.
