Very good start! Its very important to record yourself and you shouldn't worry that much about sound quality of the recording itself.
How did you go about on recording this ?

p.s. very cool playing man! smile.gif

It's just my onboard laptop mike and camera. It's nothing special. Believe it or not - it took forever for me to even get the quality that I had.

Do you have any critiques? I would like some feedback!

We'll regarding feedback on playing, you should pay attention to bending technique. From this it sounds to me that you were out of tune on some of those bends especially in the beginning (and overall guitar sounds a little bit out of tune in the recording). Try to get precisely the note you are after when bending... Also try getting as many licks/phrases under your belt as it did sound a little bit repetitive after some time.

Overall you are good and have some cool techniques under your belt. Keep recording as much as you can from now on! It will be great for feedback and self critique/awareness.

Thanks for the response!

I'll keep all of that in mind. Unfortunately my guitar will probably never be in tune - the the falls out of tune really quickly as it's a pretty cheap fender starcaster. I'll have to get a different guitar at some point.

Thanks again!

It sounds very nice. I think the video is OK, and audio could use some improvement. Getting audio card with instrument input will solve that in the future.
REgarding your playing, pay attention on everything - it has to be simply slower and more fluid. Sounded a bit too nervous. But I like the way you play, you are on the right track.

This is very nice. Still, don't underestimate the sound quality, get some elementary equipment that should be fine.
I am looking forward to more of your solos, you're good. smile.gif

it is pretty cool actually, but maybe you should get an audio interface to keep getting better and better recordings!

Welcome to the wonderful world of home recording! Congrats on your first recording! As time goes by, you'll probably start collecting recording gear, like many of us on this site. This is a great place to find out which gear is right for you as everyone hear has owned recording gear at some point. I have a thread about recording at home

HOME RECORDING TIPS AND TRICKS

and about equipping your home studio.

Enjoy!

To be honest its miles better than most first recordings. With a few fine tune-ups like the aforementioned issues, This could be a pretty amazing piece going. It always sucks having bad equipment, I still suffer through tons of it as well laugh.gif

PS

Liking the avatar too, thats Re-l from Ergo Proxy if I'm not mistaken? Love that show cool.gif
