SOmeone posted a video about david meshows studio and it was a great post!

I was thinking, if I save for a macbook pro, which might be easier when I use that as my studio computer what would be better, a pod 2 or a M-audio fast track pro, like DavidMeShow uses. Since the M-audio one has input for midi too, to record like drums or bass trough a midi keyboard. What would be better in quality?

You mean what would be better POD 2 or Fasttrack? Fasttrack is a better sound card that's for sure, more quality one, but you don't get any modeling options. Also MIDI input is not that important, almost all todays MIDI controllers come with USB MIDI interface as well.

Both products are aimed for different uses, but I'm kind of in the same boat as I am saving towards a Macbook for studio work on the road.
I'll personally go for something similar to the fasttrack. I'm planning on switching to Logic Audio and the guitar modeling inside is really goo I think.
Plus the Macbook will give you plenty of power to run your guitar through any kind of modeling soft...

Hey, that's cool David:D First I thought I'd get an I mac, but this would be more practical! I know that you can't "model" inside the Fasttrack. If I save from now on, I can probably get a MacBook for my Birthday in July.

Excellent!
We'll have to share tips and tricks together since I'll be a new Mac user. I've been on PCs all my life.
But I really like the user friendlyness of Macs and their reliability.
At least that how it seems to me!

Another good option to consider if you're gonna be a Mac user is M Box 2 Mini. It costs around 250$, but you get ProTools LE, and other software with it.

Macs from OSX pnwards feature Core Audio. Pretty certain that the fast track makes use of this but I'm not sure about the Pod2 - would be worth checking just in case Jesse.

I would go with the Fast Track and run some guitar modelling softwares through it (there are many of them out there, some good free ones too, like Wagner).

Hey Jesse a bit on the Mac thing... I'm on the Imac now, but I have to say I'm not so fond of it. It looks cool, the visuals are nice, sound is ok, but it handles a lot less... Everything works with Windows now-a-days! So opening WMV video files? not possible... paint? not on this thing... You can get everything to work, but it takes quite some time cause you'll need 200 programs to convert al windows things so you can watch then with your fancy mac xD Why should you buy a mac? because of the superb quality? with the money for an macbook you can buy a very decent windows computer tongue.gif

I'm not saying Mac sucks, I just mean... it's not only rainbows and butterfies (maroon 5 that is laugh.gif )
