Hello,
I would like to get any opinions on drum machines for recoding, as I am new to this. I'd like to know what works best and so on. I want to lay down some Toy Dolls covers with my son on vocals and need to generate drums that are not the generic loop samples that come with garage band. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

I use Reason's ReDrum Module with "Drumkits from Hell" samples in my lessons. It works ok for me if you process it with some compression, reverb and EQ.

My opinion is that you should get any Drum Sampler (like the Redrum) and then choose the sound from any Drum Kits bank and record or program via midi the drums in any secuencer like Cubase or Nuendo.

Let me know if you have any other question. wink.gif

Gabriel.-

VST's will do the job nicely, EZD or Adictive. They all have premade MIDI groove libraries, that you can edit (if you can't fing teh exact one that you like).

I've used BFD, Drumkit From Hell, Storm Drums & EZ Drummer.

I find EZ Drummer the easiest to use. And to me, ease of use is a BIG plus.

Are you wanting a software solution like these mentioned?

Or an actual drum machine?

Do you use a DAW now? (digital audio workstation)
