Hi all.
I am looking to purchase pre-recorded drum tracks in CD format. Nothing too fancy, just different tempos of classic rock styles, funk, and pop. I have tried to locate this on the 'net, but so far I have not found much at all.
These can be originals...I am just going to jam to them. Oh, and I of course would pay for them. Looking for 10-15 tracks per cd.
Thanks in advance.

Todd here wink.gif oddly enough I have a library of such cds in original packaging and in great shape. It's how I did all my early recordings before starting in programming drums which I must say takes much longer. I"ll PM you.

Check out drums on demand.

A little different to what you want but they have drum loops in WAV format, in Song Structure so you have an intro loop, a verse loops and a couple alternatives, a chorus loops and again a couple alternatives, bridge, outro. You can use a daw to put them together how you like. nice and simple

Another idea would be to create it by yourself using any soft like EZ drummer. I use its loops to practice and to start composing song. It's easy and you have lots of loops and variations.

There is a few companies that you can buy this type of stuff from
Before you will buy it make sure you have a good software like Logic or Protools and know how to use elastic audio and time stretch
" Reel Drums" and has multitrack sessions in every style www.ReelDrums.com
"Discret Drums" same thing as the previous one 24bit multitracks http://www.sonomawireworks.com/discretedrums/
There is also Ocean Drums that you can program and get amazing sounds! I hope that helps! smile.gif

Very good topic! I would love to hear about these drums compilations. I think its a good idea in essence as alternative to using VSTs. How do these samplers work with copyrights, can you for example use the loops in your songs?

He is actually looking for AUDIO CDS of drum tracks. I'm not sure quite why though. Perhaps the VST idea will connect.

I had the same question! And the answer is yes! when you are buying the tracks you are buying copyrights as well! So it is totally safe to use anywhere you want! smile.gif

It depends on the license Bogdan. Generally you get a permission to use the samples in your music rather than 'buy' the samples.
The majority of them permit you to use the samples as royalty free only when they are part of a musical composition.
They do not permit you to use them in isolation in a commercial project. You're also not allowed to copy, duplicate, share, lend or resell the samples.

I second the Drums On Demand suggestion. They're downloads rather than a CD but if for example you wanted to create a backing track to play along to, it would be very easy to arrange the loops into your song structure, burn it to an audio CD and then use it live for instance while you play and sing over it.

I've used DOD in library music compositions. Great sound and quick to work with. Of course, the downside is very limited ability to edit.

Here's an example. The DOD loops aren't heard until the 0:56 mark. http://soundcloud.com/cruciform/and-thundered-the-stars

I spoke with him on personal message and he isn't at all interested in using software as his computer is nowhere near his guitar amp. So he is looking to play audio cds and jam with them.
