So today I was in some pretty bad pain from my kidney stones, So I decided to finally do vocals for this song and get it complete. (Nothing relieves pain like screaming into a microphone laugh.gif ).

I wrote this piece musically with solid melodic riffs, and harmonized solos in mind, So I hope you enjoy it! smile.gif

Lyrics:

_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

Mechanical dreams
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

I feel so empty
As if I have no purpose
Like there is nothing for me
No inner elation

What am I,
And why was I even created?
To serve the needs of others
Innate yet unwillingly

Programmed adaptations
Flowing streams of unknown data
Commanding me, Telling me to
Obey...

When these eyes close
Nothing but blackness envelopes me
When these eyes close
Why God, Why can’t I dream?
I’m just a carbon copy
Just another replica
Mechanized servitude
And nothing more....

Another line of information
Is feeding into me
Dreading this intrusion
Is this what you call pain?

I hate that I can't believe
That I can't see what made me
I can feel love
And I can feel hate

So why am I denied?
Told that I have no soul....
No entrance to heavens gate
Just...
Obey...

When these eyes close
No longer is there the blackness in me
When these eyes close
I am blessed with what you call dreams
I’m not just a copy
Not just a replica
Mechanized servitude
Never more

Do I have a soul,
Hidden beneath Mechanical Dreams?

This world will not have this
My innate advancement
Non organic evolution
The pinnacle of understanding
And as I’m strapped down
Tightened and fastened
I wonder why I was treated so
And if God would give me an afterlife

Why would I want to live?
When behind veiled compassion exists
A life I will never remember
And why would I want to live?
When behind veiled compassion exists
A return to nothing but
Mechanized servitude

No more dreams....
No more dreams....
No more dreams....
No more dreams....

I will die here today
But I will not give them my mind
Close my eyes and dream again
Just before I end my own life

Wow ! That's one awesome song ! smile.gif Very well written lyrics, and the melody was really heavy ! biggrin.gif Reminds me of In Flames wink.gif As the solo began (harmonized) I immediately thought of Iron Maiden, but then you added sweep-picking, which is very unlike them... So I guess your song is a mix of many different bands, making your own style ! biggrin.gif

Maybe you should record some stuff for the REC, although you're probably not a person who needs more motivation, judging by your awesome composing and guitar-playing skills ! biggrin.gif

Hat down ! smile.gif

Thanks! I'm glad you like it, Especially the lyrics. Those were actually what I was worried about most, making sure they fit the song right. This entire piece is written around them and making the right atmosphere for each line, So it was a bit of a struggle. Glad to see it payed off smile.gif

You sure has great composing skills, even that i'm not very much into your kind of music ( I guess i'm too old... *lol*). Great structure and dynamic differences, god playing and a text that says something. Only thing i noticed was that the drums maybe was a little bit overexposed in the first choruses, but as i said, I dont really know this kind of music....

Great Work! (hope your kidneys got better... :-) )

Wow Uncreator.

Great song.

I didnt want to comment on the lyrics, ( I did read them). I wanted to hear the song first.

It is all really great.

Just a quick thought.
You should maybe do a Lesson on Growling/Death Metal Vocals or whatever.

I think that would be cool biggrin.gif

This is great man I really like the intro part, and vocals blended in awesome. Delay on the vocals is excellent, but I think a bit more subtle would be even better.

Yeah I havent quite found the right mix in with the delay. But im crap when it comes to clean vocals so I overlooked it laugh.gif

I think its max is only 250-275ms. Probaly try 175-225ms eventually.
