Was Slash better in G'N'R or his solo career? When and where was he a better guitarist? |

He's better in his solo career. I'm not a Slash fan but my decision is based 100% on that fact that he simply isn't working with Axl

I think both his GnR and Revolver careers are great, only GnR was more mainstream-ish band with simple hits that became RnR classic. His work in Revolver is more heavier, and more underground that GnR. Since (arguably) more people have any kind of opinion for GnR, and less people any kind for Revolver, it would seem that he was "better". The fact is that his playing and riffs are now strong and cool, only different, and that GnR career went down because of his departure. That tells something too.
