Hi Offa! Welcome to Gab's Army, before we start, I need some more info about you:

-How many time have you been playing guitar? 40 years

--Favorite guitarists, bands and musicians. Every great guitar player from BB king to Yngvie and everyone in between. My all time favorite is Hendrix and the guitarist I believe to be the very best is Steve Morse. I love playing with Vibrato, and like tasty playing much more than shredding. I was close friends with Leslie West so I learned quite a bit about vibrato and less is more from the Great Fatsby. . Jeff Beck, Eric Johnson, Joe Bonamassa, Gary Moore, Robben Ford. Seriously, this list could go on for days.

.
- What are your guitar goals? To become the best player possible using the talent that God blessed me with along with an instructor that really enjoys what he does, knows what I want to achieve, can design an aggressive plan of attack that is obtainable but only if I do as I say and put 10 hours a day into music. Not just practicing guitar, but writting songs, learning covers, collaborating, studying homework, working scales with metronome, producing with Ableton, practicing singing & keyboards, making sure you hold me accountable.

- How would you like to you see yourself in 5 years (related to music and guitar)? gigging. writing music, collaborating, producing, owning a record label, teaching students for free who can't afford lessons. Plus I will be known as one of the true masters of this instrument. I say that with no arrogance but with humility because I am willing to put the time in and do what ever is necessary to achieve the goals we set

- How many time can you play guitar each day? 10 hours a day.

- Do you have playing live experience? Yes. Gigged in a blues rock band for many years. Played in a Metallica copy band back in the day and also played in n original progressive rock band. My current goal is a solo act.

- Which are your strong and weak points with guitar? Strong....Vibrato, tasty chops, less is more approach, a strong understanding of the neck of guitar. I also have studied theory since I took my first class in music theory back in 1980 as an elective in college. Weak points....the more you know the more you don't know so I feel like a beginner. I find myself staying in comfort zone instead of taking more chances on guitar. I feel for as long as I have been playing, I should be much better, I can never put together a practice schedule that makes sense and is setup to utilize our limited time, not waste it. Sometimes I feel like I want to learn too many different things at one time instead of concentrating on a single area

- What do you know about music theory? I have a good handle on basic theory like the modes, cycle of 5ths, 4ths, building scales using triads, inversions, pentatonic and relative minor, blues scale, combining the two pentatonic scales to create much more variety in my playing, using chromatic notes as passing tones, chord progressions like 1 IV V, . II V 1, arpeggios, 7th chords. how chords are built, (difference between a minor and major 3rd) etc.. I do NOT read music nor desire to learn how to. .

- Can you record videos of you playing? Once you explain how, of course I can. I have an Imac on my desk with built in webcam & Iphone with camera. I never have tried recording myself so I will follow any instructions that hopefully can use my Imac. I have two high end mics I can use for audio so recording should sound good. The only thing that is a bit confusing is if I am able to somehow import a backing track into Ableton so I can play along using my DAW.

- Share here audios and videos that reflect your current playing. I have only uploaded one song to soundCloud and this was more of an EDM type song using MIDI guitar for entire song. The Hollow Body guitar you see me holding recorded everything you hear and the drums were finger drummed using the Push controller.

Do me a favor and follow me and like the track. By following me, you will know immediately when I post a HW assignment. This also goes for any members into collaborating on original music and wants to stretch there creativity on guitar.
