Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Good take! I like the sound and it seems like you spent some time with this!
Good job!
A few thing can be improved
- Vibrato is not very accurate and is not very "convincing" You can practice it using metronome and it will be great!
- Bending was a little bit off as well try using tuner to get use to the right pitch
- You were rushing on some parts so try to practice this lesson using metronome
Other than that it was a very good playing!

Hey Dude, that's a kick ass hairstyle ! The Metallica guys were doing that in the late 80's cool.gif

This is a good take. The timing was occasionally behind the beat a little but your technique was fine. Vibrato is pretty good too but to help you with that, try to remember to allow the string to bend back to its original pitch when doing vibrato.

If you watch the first video in this thread, I talk about this;

Good work.. I look forward to seeing more REC videos from you. wink.gif

Hi mate! I already commented your approach to this solo in the Army's thread.. however this is a different take. In this new one, your vibrato is stronger and your bending more precise but it you have some little timing issues, while the other take was a bit more precise. This means that when you concentrate more on your technique your timing moves a bit. As soon as you feel comfortable with vibrato you'll be able to concentrate also on timing at the same time.

Hello eMGie! Nice take mate, it'll build up nicely with all the advice the guys provided - I must insist on the timing as well and the vibrato. Solve the timing first though as it is the most important aspect! Cheers to you and congrats on your first take mate!

Nice, but as already mentioned,the timing here is not just the best! Also,still have a problem with vibrato, but there is Ben biggrin.gif , who will help you to define that element. I suggest practicing at a slow tempo !! Keep working wink.gif

Excellent take, very nice note separation, and cool vibrato. Only problem is : timing. You really need to nail those notes and lock them with the drums properly. Try working a bit more on timing alone, since everything else is just great.
