You can download Reaper for free! (Although you should buy their license if you continue to use it!)
You can get it HERE! You can load the Backing in one track, open another for your track. Export as mp3 or WAV and then import to movie Maker with your Webcam recording and edit together. A good tip from one of the Instructors is to mute the strings and strum them quite hard just before you start your take, that way you can look for the large 'spike' in the sound wave and match it to the video of you striking across the strings more easily!!

 Regarding Reaper, it's not exactly free, it has 30day trial period, and after that you need to get a license. However, after 30 day trial period has ended, software will stay completely functional, without any limitations, only to remind you every startup that you need to get a license. Sounds to me you're doing things a little backwards, probably to solve latency problems?
There are sound drivers, special use to lower latency to a minimum. One is ASIO. With your POD you should have got one. You have to tell your software, such as Reaper or Quickcam to use it. That's done under each software's Audio settings by setting sound-/audiodriver to be ASIO That way you should be able to select your POD sound. Start the webcam recording software (remember the ASIO sound driver) and get everything in synch from the start. -------------------- My bands homepage

I simultaneously record the video which is then later synchronized with e.g. windows movie maker to fit the audio. got that right? thanks in advance for any help!  gotta be super patient with meYeah, you should tweak the options or preferences of your ASIO driver to see if you can reduce latency somehow by increasing buffer size. Try Control Panel>audio card, or from Reaper. I had Toneport UX1 from Line 6, and although it worked nicely with Gearbox before reaper (as a mixing and modeling software of the card itself), this card handled plugins poorly, so I could barely use Guitar Rig 3 (which was popular at the time )-------------------- - Ivan's Video Chat Lesson Notes HERE
