I have the Cry baby Zakk Wylde pedal. Don't use it much, but it is sweet...

It's a fat wah tone but you don't loose your low end, it retains the body of your guitar sound and it doesn't mask your sound or have any kind of effect on your tone when its not on.

I was impressed!

I think the regular Dunlop Wah's will suit you great. It's a good Wah!

If you plan to run it on batteries just go for a simple Wah, it will last 40 hours or so.
My Ibanez Weeping Demon has whistles and giggles and is GREAT and all but it drains a 170mAh battery in 4 hours. That's just sad. So I have to run it on power, which of course adds a bit of hum in the pedal chain.
So in a way I wish I had went for the low end Dunlop instead. It's still a wah and does what a wah does, right?

If you don't care and plan to run without batteries just make your pick among the signature Wah's bur if you plan to use batteries, keep it simple!

probably the boutique wah electronics. can go into a cry baby, cost at least $100 for the kit though. have heard good things about them. forget the name.

i have a crybaby with the red fasel, costs $30 more than without that. i am satisfied. but if i had it over again, i might have gotten the $70 cry baby without fasel, and bought the boutique kit. let me look that up....

i have really heard good things about these, supposed to kick butt over any off the shelf item.

also, don't dream you can get a decent wah with a multi effect pedal. won't happen, you need a wah.

I have the Wylde as well and love it. I had all intentions of getting the original cry baby wah but ended up with a sweet deal on the Wylde. Couldn't pass it up. It does have a fatter tone but I find it still sounds great when playing Rage or Hendrix. It's a great wah.

reading everything here. rite then, i saw a vox tonelab LE pedal, it is a multi effects board, so it has built on wah, and people say vox do good wah? so would that mean the wah on the tonelab LE wont be bad?
bc the pedal on the tonelab LE looks exactly the same as the vox wah pedal...loook...==>

Very good quality too. You really can't go wrong. I have the Zakk Wylde version and it sounds great!

The gcb-95 was garbage for me.Unless you play 70's all the time. You want something with alot of sweep and control.Ibanez makes one for $99 and the dimebagg wah would be great.

Well, hendrix used both the crybaby and the vox i'm fairly sure. I think he used the vox on voodoo child, either way I can replicate that sound pretty easily with the vox tongue.gif I know clapton used one of the vox's as well, but I'm sure the dunlop is pretty good too.

I made my decision after checking reviews, the vox only came out slightly ahead but that's why I bought it.

how about the vox wah on the tonelab le!!??

Try some Morley as well, great for live.

if you're looking for a cry baby the Slash one is by far the best... it's true by pass and it's gain line is incredibly clean (compared to the Dimebag)

but personally i'd either go with the Steve Vai Bad Horsie (only real problem with this one is it really does have a Steve Vai feel and if you're not into that you wont like it)

or my personal favorite the Ernie Ball wah which has amazing range so you can really control your sound

plus both the Morley and Ernie Ball wahs don't have that annoying switch that you have to click into to use the wah

Posted by: The JEM Jun 25 2007, 03:06 AM

i would go with morley's bad horsie pedal

if you've heard steve vai, you'll probably want to get it

Posted by: lost-jgs Jun 25 2007, 04:30 AM

picked up a crybaby wah couple days ago and i love it

While I was in the store i noticed they had a nice boss WAH that could simulate all the different wah pedals. Was double the price of the crybaby, but would be a good choice if you cant decide on which wah to get.

Posted by: kevin-riff-after-riff Jun 26 2007, 10:48 PM

would the boss one simulate it really well though?

Posted by: Pavel Jun 26 2007, 11:03 PM

I have that Boss PW-10 Wah pedal and i am using only one wah model and it's great to me. I really love it!

Posted by: Layzer Jun 27 2007, 02:45 AM

bought a basic dunlop wah today...its perfectly fine!
